Sydney FC`s Young Guns Shine in AFC Champions League

Sydney FC showcased their promising future in a 3-1 victory over Kaya FC in the AFC Champions League Two. With their progress to the knockout phase already secured, coach Ufuk Talay opted for a youthful starting XI in their final Group E fixture.

The match highlighted the talents of several young players, including 18-year-old Wataru Kamijo, who made his professional debut. Kamijo impressed by providing an assist for Patrick Wood in the first-half stoppage time, after Adrian Segecic had opened the scoring in the 38th minute. Jaiden Kucharski sealed the win with a goal 15 minutes from the end.

Hayden Matthews, a 20-year-old sensation and Socceroo, wore the captain's armband, further emphasizing the team's commitment to developing young talent. The squad included 17 academy graduates, underscoring Sydney FC's strong youth development program.

Despite Kaya FC's efforts, including a late goal from Robert Lopez Mendy, Sydney FC's performance was dominant. The team now looks forward to their next challenge in the Isuzu UTE A-League against the Central Coast Mariners.
