NBA fines Philadelphia 76ers 100,000 USD

For making public remarks that "were inconsistent with Joel Embiid's health status and in violation of NBA rules, including the league's Player Participation Policy," the Philadelphia 76ers were fined $100,000 USD by the NBA on Tuesday.
In accordance with its player participation policy, which was implemented last year in response to the frequent "load management" of elite players, the league opened an investigation after Embiid was forced to miss the 76ers' season-opening matchup against the Milwaukee Bucksā€”a nationally televised gameā€”due to left knee soreness.
