AFC Names 2023 Players of the Year Qatari forward Akram Afif and Japanese player Kiko Seike have been named Players of the Year by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC). Afif, 27, played a crucial role in Qatar's AFC Asian Cup victory with eight goals, including a hat-trick in the final against Jordan. He previously won this award in 2019 and currently plays for Al Sadd SC. Seike, 20, scored 20 goals this year, leading Urawa Red Diamonds to consecutive women's league titles in Japan and participating in the Asian Club Championship.
