Sainz on Mexico City pole

After Ferrari's Carlos Sainz, title contenders Max Verstappen and Lando Norris begin Sunday's Mexico City Grand Prix in second and third place on the grid, respectively.
Verstappen leads Norris by 57 points going into the race, and the Red Bull driver must improve his lead by an average of less than 12 points per race in order to pass him in the final five grand prix.
Sainz was in a class of his own, finishing on pole by 0.225 seconds from Verstappen, highlighting Ferrari's recent form surge. Norris qualified his McLaren just 0.089 seconds slower than Verstappen.
