Ex-Liverpool and Cameroon defender Matip retires

Joel Matip, a former defender for Liverpool, announced his retirement from sport at the age of 33.
After leaving German team Schalke to join the Reds in 2016, the defender made 201 appearances for Liverpool and took home five major titles.
Matip helped Liverpool win their sixth European Cup by setting up Divock Origi's goal in the 2-0 victory over Tottenham in Madrid during the 2019 Champions League final.
