Allen makes 147 after saying table should be 'burn

At the British Open, Mark Allen broke the record with a break of 147, and he went on to win the second match, which went until 01:30 BST, to go to the quarterfinals where he would face Judd Trump.
Allen of Northern Ireland had previously declared that the Cheltenham tournament table should be "burned," but in his opening match of the day, which included the 147, he easily defeated Ben Mertens of Belgium 4-1.
Allen defeated Chris Wakelin 4-3 in a far more laborious contest that continued until the wee hours of Friday morning.
