Swiss Cyclist Muriel Furrer Seriously Injured at World Championships

Swiss cyclist Muriel Furrer, 18, is in "very critical" condition following a severe fall during the junior road race at the World Championships in Zurich. The International Cycling Union (UCI) reported that she was airlifted to the hospital with a serious brain injury. The UCI expressed deep concern and stated that investigations into the circumstances of the accident are ongoing, as the race took place on wet roads amid heavy rain.
