Late score earns New York City FC draw
At Yankee Stadium on Saturday, New York City FC defeated Lionel Messi and Inter Miami FC 1–1 thanks to a goal from James Sands in the 95th minute.
Sands earned NYCFC's second draw of the season against Inter Miami by converting a cross from Santiago Rodriguez after a corner kick. On March 30, there was a 1-1 draw between the two teams.
For NYCFC (11-11-8, 41 points), who saw their winless streak extended to nine games (0-3-6), Matthew Freese turned down one attempt. Its most recent triumph came on July 3 against CF Montreal, 2-0.
