Chris Smalling signs with Saudi club Al-Fayha

Chris Smalling, a former defender for Manchester United and England, signed with Al-Fayha in Saudi Arabia, leaving Serie A club Roma after five seasons.
Al-Fayha announced late on Monday that 34-year-old Smalling had signed a two-year contract.
Joao Costa, a 19-year-old Brazilian winger, was also permanently transferred by Roma to Al-Ettifaq, another Saudi Arabian team. Costa played for Roma only five times in both the Europa League and Serie A.
