Ingebrigtsen Smashes 28-Year-Old 3,000m Record

Norwegian star Jakob Ingebrigtsen, the double Olympic champion in the 1,500m and 5,000m, has set a new world record in the 3,000m event. At the Diamond League meet in Chorzow, Poland, Ingebrigtsen clocked 7:17.55, breaking a 28-year-old record held by Kenya's Daniel Komen. Ingebrigtsen finished well ahead of Ethiopia's Berihu Aregawi (7:21.28) and Yomif Kejelcha (7:28.44).
