One of South Africa's great medal hopes, Tatjana Schoenmaker, set the world alight with an Olympic record-breaking swim in Women's 100m breaststroke heat 5 on Sunday.

Swimming out of lane 5, the 24-year-old finished her heat in a time of 14.82 - beating American Lilly King's record from Rio 2016 - and qualified fastest for the semi-final, which takes place on Monday morning.

Schoenmaker's swim was made even more remarkable, as her swim cap was threatening to come undone as she approached the finish line. #tokyo2020 #teamsouthafrica #olympics #swimming
