'An annihilation - Alcaraz always had the answers'

Although Carlos Alcaraz's triumph over Novak Djokovic in the Wimbledon final was not entirely unexpected, the manner in which it transpired was.

Talk of a rematch of last year's championship matchā€”a fierce battle that lasted the entire five setsā€”occurred during the build-up. Many others thought the match would continue in the same manner when Djokovic eventually gave up his serve after a 14-minute first game.

Alcaraz, however, changed the course of events. He won 6-2 6-2 7-6 (7-4) by storming through the first two sets and capitalizing on Djokovic's lack of form.
