Graeme Smith on Aiden Makram captancy

Former captain Graeme Smith praised Aiden Markram on Wednesday for being "brave" and "tactically astute" after his leadership of South Africa to its first-ever appearance in the T20 World Cup final, which it nearly lost to India last week in Barbados.

Under Markram's leadership, South Africa had an almost flawless T20 World Cup campaign; their lone loss came in the championship match, where India defeated the Proteas by seven runs.

"Aiden performed exceptionally well throughout the competition. Smith said in a media release, "He was tactically astute, had good plans, and was brave enough to make the big calls and then get all his players to commit to it."
