Mexico’s Alvarez to miss remaining games

Edson Alvarez, the captain of Mexico, announced that he will sit out the rest of the Copa America due to a hamstring injury.

In the thirty-first minute of Mexico's 1-0 victory over Jamaica on Saturday, Alvarez went down clutching his hamstring and fled the field in tears.

In a video that the national team shared on social media, Alvarez stated, "I had that dream just like my team mates but sometimes these things happen in football and I will have to learn and grow from all this."
