Fifa warned on human rights over World Cup bids

Amnesty International asserts that Fifa must "rigorously and transparently ensure" that bids to host the men's World Cups in 2030 and 2034 protect human rights.

In a recent study, the advocacy group maintains that "any agreement to host the tournament must terminate if human rights are jeopardized or violated" by the world governing body.

The three co-host nations for 2030—Spain, Portugal, and Morocco—were confirmed by FIFA last year. Uruguay, Argentina, and Paraguay will host the first three games.
