American Dream puts the world into World Cup

There is never knowingly a World Cup in cricket.

Sunday (01:30 BST) marks the start of the T20 World Cup, which comes just 195 days after the men's 50-over World Cup concluded. Aside from the several Champions Trophies, Intertoto Cups, and Universal Championships, there will be a women's T20 World Cup later this year and a 50-over competition in 2025. You get the concept, even though some of those might be made up.

It's debatable if familiarity breeds contempt or not, but sometimes a change of scenery is beneficial, and this event is clearly different from the grueling tour of India last autumn.
