Ohtani's interpreter fired after reports of theft

The Los Angeles Dodgers have fired Ippei Mizuhara, the long-time interpreter for baseball sensation Shohei Ohtani, following suspicions of theft in connection with illicit gambling.

According to ESPN, at least $4.5 million (Ā£3.5 million) has been transferred from Ohtani's bank account to a bookmaker. Mr Ohtani is not accused of any misconduct.
Mr Mizuhara talked to the US Sports Network on Tuesday.
The announcement comes as Ohtani makes his regular-season debut with the Dodgers.
