New tournament to offer £2m prize fund

The World Snooker Tour has announced that the newly founded Saudi Arabia Snooker Masters would feature a £2 million prize pool and will be the sport's 'fourth major'.

The world's top players will come to Riyadh at the end of August for the first competition.

The prize pot makes it the second-richest event on the program, trailing only the World Championship.
