Henshaw and Joe McCarthy to start for Ireland

Due to a shoulder injury, Garry Ringrose will miss Ireland's Six Nations opener against France on Friday. Joe McCarthy will start at lock and Robbie Henshaw will start at center.

Coach Andy Farrell stated that Ringrose sustained the shoulder injury during Leinster's 20 January victory against Leicester.

James Ryan will start on the bench as a result of McCarthy's inclusion, leaving Ulster's Iain Henderson off the matchday 23 roster.
