Taylor Fritz off to winning start

After Daniil Medvedev lost his temper and threatened to be defaulted due to his strange antics, American Taylor Fritz defeated the Russian 6-4 6-3 on Sunday to win his first match in the group stage of the ATP Finals 2024.
After a series of double faults in the opening set, Medvedev, the 2020 ATP Finals champion and the runner-up the following year, lost his cool and Fritz defeated the Russian for the first time in his career.
Fritz, a 2024 U.S. Open finalist, won his eighth top-10 match of the year and his 50th overall.
