Franz Beckenbauer Supercup Announcement

Starting from August 2025, the German Supercup will be renamed the "Franz Beckenbauer Supercup" in honor of the legendary German footballer who passed away on January 7, 2024, at the age of 78. The annual match between the Bundesliga champion and the DFB Cup winner will carry his name. Beckenbauer, a five-time Bundesliga champion and four-time Cup winner, is celebrated as one of Germany's greatest football icons.
