Time For Africa To Host The Olympic Games

There have been talks about the need for Africa to be given the chance to host the Olympics, in order to reflect the universal aspect of it. Egypt’s reported preparation to table a proposal to host the event subsequently, has further raised questions on how ready the continent is to host an event of such magnitude. Though a country like Egypt already has infrastructure that is considered close to the standard, the numbers that the Olympics pull still seem too big for the facilities to accommodate.

The 2024 Olympics in Paris, scheduled from July 26 to August 11, will bring together over 10,500 athletes competing in 329 events, with around 15 million tourists.

Paris will be hosting the games for the third time.
