#toni #conceiçao (Portuguese coach of Cameroon): “The victory was important for us. Yes, I was a little scared (when Burkina led) but, sincerely, I had confidence in my players😳. We knew playing at home in the first game was a bit stressful, a psychological burden on the players, but they reacted and it got us into the game. Our team has shown its ability to react. We didn't play a great game, but the main thing is to have won".

It's the first success for Cape Verde, thanks to the former Dijonais #julio #tavares,who won ( 1-0 ) against Ethiopia this Sunday in the second match of this CAN. Rui Águas' men imitated their Cameroonian counterparts, victorious over Burkina Faso (2-1) at the opening of the CAN, earlier in the day. The Cape Verdeans won on the smallest of margins thanks to Tavares' goal, before the end of the first period and climbed to second place in group A. The Ethiopians, reduced to ten after the exclusion of Yared Bayeh at the 12th minute of play, are fourth.

Cameroon won this Sunday against Burkina Faso (2-1) for the opening match of the Africa Cup of Nations. A precious success for a good start to the competition.
#sangaré opened the scoring for the Burkinabés ( 24th ), but the Indomitable Lions reversed the situation thanks to two penalties from #aboubakar (40th, 48th). Cameroon, the host country, ideally launches this 33rd CAN, postponed by one year due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
