Princeton women`s squash team finishes strong with victories over Georgetown and Virginia, showcasing talent ahead of championships.
Princeton`s No. 3 women`s squash team concluded their regular season in style, achieving two commanding victories at the Meadows Facility. They swept No. 15 Georgetown 9-0 on Saturday and triumphed over No. 6 Virginia 8-1 on Senior Day. Senior captain Josephine Klein showcased the team`s determination and pride in representing Princeton.
Against Georgetown, seven players delivered flawless performances, winning their matches 3-0, including Klein and fellow senior captain Katherine Sapinski. Junior Charlotte Bell faced a tougher challenge but secured a 3-1 victory at line two, while senior Connie Nelson made a successful varsity debut with a 3-1 win at line nine.
The match against Virginia proved to be more competitive, with five lines extending to five games. Sophomore Zeina Zein won 3-1 at line one, while Emma Trauber, Molly Chadwick, and Charlotte Bell all mounted impressive comebacks to win 3-2 at lines two, three, and four, respectively. Katherine Sapinski and Liyen Teoh also clinched 3-2 victories. This decisive 8-1 win capped off a remarkable 11-2 regular season for the Tigers, positioning them with the third-best record nationally as they head into the College Squash Association (CSA) National Team Championships from March 6-9. Head coach Gail Ramsay praised the team`s growth following the graduation of key seniors last year.
